Description of Research Interest

The Laboratory of Molecular Phage Biology is studying the fascinating biology of bacteriophages, the viruses infecting bacteria, and their application in clinics and biotechnology. While others study the depths of the oceans or the stars of distant galaxies, we uncover the mysteries that are hidden in the molecular strategies used by these viruses to overpower bacterial pathogens. We then apply this knowledge to improve antimicrobial therapies for patients or to build new biotechnological tools for life science research.

Member of Collaborative/interdisciplinary Research Consortia

Our lab is a member of NCCR AntiResist where we develop state-of-the-art phage therapy that takes into account the real-life physiology of bacteria at infection sites.
